I've been formally teaching science for 17 years; before that I worked in conservation, with the Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites and The Nature Conservancy.
I was born in the high Andes, a few miles south of the equator in Ecuador, S.A. My parents were Protestant missionaries and growing up I had wonderful experiences! Look for Stories from Ecuador coming out soon: they include stories I tell in class when they go along with the lesson. My first book was from my conservation career: Fat Lighter: Our Southern Longleaf Heritage, which talks about one of North America's greatest forests, now endangered.
School? Juniata College, Penn State, University of Georgia. Yeah!
Here's my wonderful family :-)
